How to Care for Newly Planted Sod
By ProMatcher Staff
It may seem like a no brainer, but water is the key. Here are a few helpful tips for taking care of your new sod:
1. First two weeks, water three times a day. Morning, noon, night.
2. Week three, water two times a day. Morning and noon.
3. Week four, water one time a day. Morning or evening.
4. Skip watering for periods when a good rain comes through.
5. First mowing should occur around the end of week two or if the grass grows longer than 3 1/2 inches. Do not mow the lawn when it is wet.
When it comes to watering, the first month is critical. Stay on your schedule and your grass will get a good start on life.
